One of my daily activities between bun and third coffee is browsing through new crowdfunding actions. Sometimes you can find quite interesting gadgets to present to the community. That's how I found SmartHalo or Tap keyboards.

 

Since I'm a young father and my daughter loves to pick with me (so the dolls are pasee for her) I decided to find something that can not only develop her intellectually but also give a great time for both of us.

 

And so I came across CrowPi2 at laptopsunder30000.com, whose authors have been raising funds for 16 days to start full production. CrowPi2 can be called a modular laptop whose heart is the well-known Raspberry Pi.

 

The device can be purchased in several variants differing in equipment. The basic (cheapest) set contains 29 different modules, including a joystick, a fan and a contact plate. I could list all of them, but underneath there is a visualization that illustrates everything well.

 

CrowPi2 has an 11.6-inch IPS 1920 x 1080 screen, 2 MP camera, microphone and stereo output. It even has a mouse and wireless keyboard, which is disconnected from the restoration. When it is removed, the above mentioned modules are exposed.

 

According to marketing materials from the kickstarter, this unit is a STEAM education miracle that can help you learn. It contains lots of lessons/tutorials to learn Scratch, Python, Minecraft and AI. In addition, you will find many open source games that will help you to broaden your knowledge about computers and programming.

 

CrowPi2 is compatible with various operating systems, including Arch, Raspbian, FreeBSD, LibreELEC and Ubuntu. The manufacturer stresses that the laptop is based on the latest version of Raspberry Pi 4, it also supports older types such as 3B+ and 3B. In addition, CrownPi2 comes with two microSD cards: one with custom software and educational applications loaded and the other with RetroPie game emulation software.

As I mentioned before, CrowPi2 is now available for kickstart action. You can choose between different sets, each containing different accessories. The cheapest set starts from $169. The manufacturer intends to deliver the orders to the sponsors in late August. I have already ordered my copy :)
